EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

In keeping with my upbringing I strive to continue my "out-of-classroom" education and have had the opportunity to learn from all kinds of sources, including mentors, colleagues and even individuals not in my field. I believe that while my formal education gave me the tools it is my informal education that has given me the skills, experiences, and passions that will allow me to be successful.

Upon completing my undergraduate degree, my experiences at Georgia Southern University have resulted in broad knowledge in studio art practices and art history research.

SKILLS

I have never taken a position and thought of it as "just a job." With each position I am always on the look out for new skills to be learned or ways I can advance my expertise of a skill.

CULTURAL SENSITIVITY

Advanced

As a young traveler of the world I learned early in life the importance of recognizing and respecting other cultures. I have taken these lessons and applied them to my professional career and have been successful in working with colleagues and assisting patrons from different backgrounds.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

Advanced

Providing exceptional customer service  while maintaining a positive attitude has always come naturally to me.  With over three years of experience I have learned that good customer service is the foundation for any organization or business.

PLANNING AND ORGANIZATION

Intermediate

Planning and organizing are not only part of my skill set but also a passion. I enjoy finding the most efficient way to organize files, an event, or even the day and take pleasure in planning out even the smallest of details.

EXHIBITION INSTALLATION

Intermediate

While helping install an exhibition, I was once called "a force of nature." I can be found painting, installing artwork, installing lighting, and even fabricating pedestals and displays.

EXHIBITIONS

I have always believed art to be capable of bridging cultures. My first exhibition, Nature Realized, in 2014 not only highlighted the beauty of nature but also the beauty of the Gullah-Geechee culture through the basketry of Stephanie Tames. My career would come full circle two years later when I again had the privilege of working with Stephanie Tames in  Albania for the American Presidents and Albanian Relations exhibition.

Through two exhibitions there is now a bridge connecting three cultures: Statesboro, Gullah-Geechee, and Albania. It is my hope that the work I do will continue to create these bridges.
